Where you come third.
*Why, "Where you come third" (instead of first) as a motto?!
To provide each client with excellent legal services delivered in a timely
manner at a reasonable price for the Glory of God and the joy of the client.
Generally, the "bottom line" in determining annual income for a lawyer is time
multiplied by hours billed to clients. The more time spent working, the more
money the attorney can make. However, time spent working is time spent
away from other things. I learned the hard way early in my career that all the
money in the world is not worth the sacrifice of a fruitful, joy-producing
relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and a loving, quality relationship
with my wife and family.
Therefore, when I started this practice, I decided that while my clients would
be very important to me, they would come third. God would comes first,
and my family would come second. This would serve as the safeguard for
my clients that they will receive quality legal services delivered in a timely
manner at a reasonable price. Why? If my priorities are in order, I'm simply
not going to have the time to stay up all night working in a state of 10%
efficiency to squeeze out incredibly expensive and wasteful extra ounces of
legal perfection (and more billable hours) traditionally charged to the client at
the expense of God and family. And, as a general rule, God will be honored
and my family is going to get a father and husband home evenings and
weekends, except in client emergencies.
When the client comes third, everybody wins.
Welcome!
